Development Watch: 267 Old Colony Ave.

A developer is proposing large project review with the Boston Planning and Development Agency for a mixed-use project located at 267 Old Colony Avenue. You know, the little strip mall area where D’angelo’s and Blockbuster Video once stood! (Are we dating ourselves? )
Proposal is 55 housing units, 3 commercial retail spaces and 60 parking spaces. Revised plans were filed last week with the BPDA. You can check them out here.
This neck of the woods will be non-recognizable soon. Across the street is the future home of Washington Village – made up of 656 housing units and 100,000 square feet of retail.
Not to mention the project at 200 Old Colony Ave that will be replacing the Notre Dame Education Center with a six-story building complete with 54 residential units and 9,500 square ground-floor space for the education center.
Back in 2016, the BPDA projected that the proposed rezoning of that area could generate almost 16 million square feet of development between Broadway Station and Andrew Station over 20 years! Holy Moly!
