Eastie After Dark Hike – Reserve your spot
If you love trails, urban adventures, and seeing East Boston from a whole new perspective, mark your calendars! Mike Tormey, a transportation planner with the City of Boston, is leading a special Night Hike through East Boston, venturing beyond the usual Walking City Trail (WCT) routes. Set for Wednesday, February 12th, this 2.7-mile trek will kick off at 6 PM at Airport Station (Blue Line) and wind through parks, greenways, open spaces, and Eastie’s most intriguing neighborhoods. Expect stunning harbor views, bold street art, hidden urban wilds, and maybe even a secret alleyway or two. The adventure wraps up at Maverick Station, making it easy to hop back on the T. This isn’t just another hike—it’s a chance to imagine how Eastie could anchor a future Boston trail. Maybe even one that mixes walking with a water taxi connection? (We’re here for it.) So bundle up, bring a flashlight, and get ready to see Eastie in a whole new light! RSVP here via Walking City Trail
Boston Family Days
Mayor Michelle Wu is making Boston an even better place for families to grow, explore, and thrive! The Mayor announced Boston Family Days, a remarkable expansion of the popular BPS Sundays program that delighted Boston Public Schools students and their families with free access to cultural institutions around the city. This exciting initiative now opens the doors to all school-aged children in Boston, including those enrolled in Boston Pre-K, while adding three incredible new destinations: the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, and the Museum of African American History. Starting in January 2025 and running through December 2026, Boston Family Days will offer free admission on the first and second Sundays of each month to beloved Boston landmarks from the Children’s Museum to the JFK Library. You can get all the details here.
