5 Things You Should Know This Week – August 17th

Buckle up, Moving Day Season is upon us

September 1st is right around the corner, and you know what that means – it’s Moving Day in the neighborhood! The next few weeks are sure to promise lots of double-parked cars and moving vans, “no parking” moving permits (which residents will ignore), and trash galore! If you’re gearing up to move — or just love the annual curbside Southie Christmas— here’s how to survive (and maybe even enjoy) the chaos!  Check out our guide here!

Outdoor Movie Night at the Greenway

Grab a blanket and head to Bremen Street Park Amphitheater to enjoy an outdoor screening of Rocky II on Wednesday at 6pm! Popcorn will be available while supplies last!

Treat yourself!

La Sultana Bakery features a variety of delicious baked goods, from cupcakes to flan; they even have Colombian specialties like palmertias and peras!  You can check out the full menu here!

Welcome to the Neighborhood, Pomona Cafe & Wine Bar

Pomona Café & Wine Bar is officially open in Maverick Square. Located at 18 Meridian Street, the new spot is part café, part wine bar, serving everything from Colombian coffee, breakfast and brunch to small plates, dinner, wine, and cocktails. The new Eastie spot is designed to be an all-day neighborhood gathering place — stop in for coffee in the morning, meet a friend for brunch, or settle in for wine and dinner later in the day. Welcome to the neighborhood, Pomona! We can’t wait to check it out.
