BOSTON, MA – January 15, 2026 – Navy Yard Hospitality Group, in partnership with the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), is thrilled to announce the preview opening of The Rink at The Tall Ship, taking place this weekend, January 16. The preview marks the first phase of a new seasonal transformation of East Boston’s iconic waterfront venue. This initial soft launch offers guests an early look at the outdoor ice rink and select programming, with a full grand opening scheduled for February 11, 2026, when additional features, amenities, and experiences will debut.

Starting with this weekend’s preview event, guests can enjoy outdoor ice skating and ice bumper cars set against sweeping harbor and skyline views. Expanded offerings, including chalet lounges, market stalls, warming features, and additional food and beverage experiences will be introduced as part of February’s grand opening.

Since its debut in 2021, The Tall Ship has become one of Boston’s most celebrated warm-weather venues, welcoming more than 250,000 guests annually to its 245-foot Tall Ship turned floating oyster bar and expansive waterfront site. The Rink represents the next chapter in
the venue’s evolution, ensuring the waterfront remains active, welcoming, and accessible throughout the winter months and beyond.

“The Tall Ship has become one of Boston’s most iconic summer experiences,” said Charlie Larner, Co-Founder of Navy Yard Hospitality Group. “With The Rink, we’re bringing that same excitement to winter, transforming the waterfront into a dynamic, year-round destination for the community and for visitors across the region.”

“We’re consistently looking for new opportunities to activate the Boston waterfront with engaging hospitality experiences.” said Salvatore Boscarino, Co-Founder of Navy Yard Hospitality Group. “The Rink at The Tall Ship introduces a fresh concept that blends activity, programming, and entertainment, bringing an exciting ‘wow’ factor to Boston.”

“This transformation of The Tall Ship into a winter experience is about more than just fun, it’s about creating a gathering place for the community,” said Massport CEO Rich Davey. “We hope it will become an adored seasonal tradition that brings joy and energy to the waterfront all winter
long.”
