Oh boy! Looks like Tom English’s Cottage is in a bit of hot water with the City of Boston’s Licensing Board. According to Universal Hub, the owner of Tom English’s, a contractor and another person, were discovered by two licensing detectives having a few beers and some shots of Jameson inside the bar on March 21st after the City shut down local bars and restaurants.
Tom English’s will find out Thursday whether the four months closed without a liquor license is punishment enough or if more time will be added.
If English’s gets their license back they will reopen for takeout. You can read more about this here.
Another juicy tidbit gleaned from Universal Hub? The owner of English’s was making repairs on the building to potentially sell it.
