Giddy up, Eastie! A new cowboy bar is getting ready to open in Maverick Square!  

According to the Boston Globe, The Spur is coming to 34 Maverick Square, inside a former bank building that has been in co-owner Joe Skoczylas’s family for more than 100 years. Skoczylas and his partner, Corinne Balesano, are bringing their love of cowboy culture to the neighborhood with a laid-back bar featuring whiskey, classic cocktails, local beer, and live music.

The Spur will also be giving back! A portion of the bar’s proceeds, including all merchandise sales, will support animal rescue organizations. The owners also plan to match tips given to live musicians with donations to animal rescue.

The team hopes to open in the coming weeks, with plans to stay open until 2am and eventually offer late-night food.
