The James Beard Foundation has announced its 2025 semifinalist nominees for the James Beard Awards — one of the most prestigious awards a restaurant or chef can earn. The non-profit celebrates restaurants and chefs around the country in many categories!
We were happy to learn that Douglass Williams, from Mida, has been nominated in the Outstanding Restaurateur category. Way to go!
The wildly popular restaurant Mida has locations in the South End, Newton, Fenway and our own neighborhood of East Boston.
MIDA comes from the Italian saying, “he gives me,” meaning guests are welcome to eat, drink and be merry as soon as they come through the door! The menu features Italian dishes like arancini, mussels, gnocchi cacio e pepe, bucatini all’amatriciana and classic puttanesca! As for MIDA’s pizza, it’s New Haven style – which means a crispy chewy crust with toppings like classic pepperoni, sausage and pizza Bianco! To check out the full menu, visit here!
The semifinalists will be whittled down to a short list of finalists that will be announced on Wednesday, April 2, and winners will be announced at the James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards ceremony on Monday, June 16, at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
Fingers crossed!
