Apply for a Spooky Streets Grant from the City of Boston
Mayor Michelle Wu and the Community Engagement Cabinet’s Office of Civic Organizing announced applications are now open for the Spooky Streets Grant Program. This funding is an expansion of the Mayor’s efforts to create a fun and safe environment for kids and families to enjoy community. Residents and community groups who apply and get approved will receive a mini-grant for $250 to purchase items such as candy, pumpkins, decorations, and face paint, making it easier and more affordable for neighborhoods to host Halloween block parties. La Cueva Live Mural
La Cueva is back with free workshops for women who want to explore their inner world and heal through art! Join us on a creative journey to express your emotions, discover your authenticity, and connect with other women. The classes will be offered in both English and Spanish. Meet on September 13, 20, and 27, and October 4 at the corner of Gove Street and Orleans Street, East Boston, from 4 PM to 7 PM. No experience is needed, just a desire to create and heal. Greenway Bike Ride
Tour the Mary Ellen Welch Greenway to learn about the history of East Boston. come with whatever wheels you wish to bring, including but not limited to a wheelchair, bike, scooter, skateboard, roller skates + more! This fun neighborhood event takes place on Saturday, September 14th from 10am-12pm.
3rd Annual East Boston Latin Music + Dance Festival – Save the Date!
The annual East Boston Latin Music & Dance Festival will bring a day filled with Sonidos De La Gente (Sounds of the People) to East Boston Memorial Park on Saturday, September 21st! Now in its third year, the festival will feature a variety of local artists and dance groups spread across two stages from 1:00 – 7:30 PM. The FREE family-friendly event is organized by Sen.
