Nominate a Legacy Business

Today, Mayor Michelle Wu announced the launch of the nomination period for the fourth annual Legacy Business Awards. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, October 31, 2025. Residents are encouraged to nominate long-standing businesses that have been located within the city of Boston for at least 10 years and contribute to the cultural, historical, and societal fabric of their community or neighborhood. To nominate a business, residents can use the online form, visit their local Boston Public Library branch for assistance filling out the form, or call the Office of Small Business at 617-635-0355 for assistance. Costal Risk Storm Management Study at East Boston Library

he City of Boston is hosting the second workshops to provide East Boston residents with an update on the Coastal Storm Risk Management Study. In partnership with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the study analyzes coastal flood effects on people, ecosystems, property and critical infrastructure, and develops potential strategies to mitigate flood risk. These meetings will focus on proposed plans for East Boston. Residents are invited to learn about Climate Ready Boston in East Boston and the USACE study progress, share concerns and feedback, and ask questions. This event takes place on Thursday, September 18th from 6pm-7:30pm at the East Boston Public Library – 325 Breman Street. Spanish translation services, childcare and food will be provided.
