5 Things You Should Know This Week – March 16th

Calling all bird lovers
Experience the male American Woodcock’s courtship ritual at twilight. Most of the evening is spent listening – from his buzzy, insect or frog-like peent to wings twittering, and liquid chirps as he lifts, spirals, and zig zags back to the field. Brief glimpses are possible, but this magical sky dance is heart more than seen. Bring a flashlight and binoculars for the walk back.
Ages: Adults and children 5+ with an adult chaperone. This event is FREE and open to everyone!
This event takes place on Tuesday, March 17th from 7pm-8pm.
Co-sponsored by the Friends of Belle Isle Marsh and DCR
