Update: A 24-year-old woman from Andover has died after boat crash in Boston Harbor in East Boston

According to the Suffolk County DA Office, a 24-year-old Andover woman died when the recreational boat she was on crashed into a pier at Logan Airport around 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday.

The boat, with one man and three women aboard, struck a pier at the end of runway 4R. From the DA’s Office:

Elizabeth Dankert, 24, of Andover was pronounced dead early today at Massachusetts General Hospital after being transported from a boat crash at Logan Airport Pier 4R. Dankert and two female friends, both 23, were in the Seaport district in Boston Wednesday evening when they boarded a boat owned by a male, 40. The boat struck the pier at about 11:20 p.m. throwing the passengers onto the rocks wrapping the shore.

There was a big emergency response in Boston Harbor overnight after a boat crash near Logan Airport sent four people to the hospital.

According to NBC10 Boston, Boston EMS confirmed multiple water rescues after the crash near Harborside Road. It’s unclear exactly how many people ended up in the water or what caused the accident.

Firefighters, police, and Massport crews responded to the scene, where a damaged boat was visible up against the rocks near a bridge, on Thursday morning. A police boat remained in the harbor as crews continued investigating.

WHDH later reports that one person has died at the hospital.
