At about 5:01 PM, on Saturday, August 10, 2024, officers assigned to District A-7 (East Boston) arrested two 13-year-old Juvenile males, on armed robbery charges.
Officers responded to the area of 1 Central Square for a report of an assault and battery in progress. Upon arrival, officers observed a juvenile male victim sitting outside of the store.
Officers were advised that one of the suspects pushed the victim, knocking him to the ground. The suspect then ripped the victim’s chain from his neck while holding a knife. A second suspect was standing beside the victim, also holding a knife. The suspects fled the area towards Porter Street.
Boston EMS was requested to respond to assess the victim. While the victim was being treated, the suspects returned to the scene. Officers requested assistance from responding units as there were three involved suspects.
Two of the juveniles were immediately placed into handcuffs. After further investigation, the third suspect was promptly released. The victim was later transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 13-year-old juvenile males were placed under arrest and charged with Delinquent to wit; Armed Robbery, and Delinquent to wit; Assault and Battery. Both are expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
