At about 3:45 AM, on Friday, November 22, 2024, officers assigned to District A-7 (East Boston) arrested Joseph Woodside, 41, of Quincy, on breaking and entering charges.
Officers responded to the area of 345 Meridian Street for a report of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers observed two motor vehicles had their passenger side windows broken. While on scene, officers were approached by a second 911 caller who stated that a suspect was breaking into a parking garage at 5 Trenton Street.
Officers immediately observed the suspect leaning into a motor vehicle and gave verbal commands for him to get on the ground. Officers were quickly able to place the suspect into handcuffs.
Officers were approached by another victim who advised officers that his vehicle’s passenger window was shattered as well. Officers later determined that a total of four vehicles had been broken into.
Woodside was placed under arrest and charged with four counts of Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle, and four counts of Malicious Destruction of Property. Officers also determined that the suspect had five outstanding warrants for various charges to include Assault, Larceny, and Drug Possession. He is expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court.
