Why did the chicken cross the road? Because he just bought a new condo on East Third St. and had to park three blocks away. Everyone wants to live in Southie! Even wildlife. We’ve got coyotes, deer, skunks, mola mola sunfish, whales, bald eagles, turkeys bunnies, we thought the Southie groundhog was impressive but this one might top it all! Chickens in Southie. Yes, chickens.
CIS reader – Scott Raymond – shared with us a photo of some chickens on East Third near the post office. They were just doing their chicken thing like it’s completely normal for chickens to be in the middle of the street. (Hey, chicken! Say hi to your mother for me.)
We have to imagine that they literally flew the coop and someone is raising chickens in their yard right here in Southie.
So there you have it! Now Southie has chickens.
