No Name Restaurant up for auction

Are you in the market for a seafood restaurant located right on the water?  Well, listen up!  Opportunity might be knocking.  According to the Boston Globe, The No Name restaurant and its contents will be sold next Thursday at a public auction.  The 102 year-old legendary seafood restaurant abruptly closed its doors the end of last year due to debt. 

The firm Paul E. Saperstein Co. Inc. will auction off the Fish Pier building’s lease, which includes 40 designated parking spots, and a limited liquor license.  The money raised from the auction will go toward  clearing owner Yannis Contos’s debts.

There is a catch (pun intended), according to Massport who owns the lease, the the two-story 7,219 square foot space, the next establishment must be “for the purpose of operating a restaurant primarily specializing in the serving of seafood to customers.”

In addition to the restaurant lease and beer/wine license, the old school nautical decor and memorabilia will also be sold off.

The auction will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February. 27th, at the former location of the No Name Restaurant. Bids also will be accepted online.
