It’s official! The World’s Largest Soccer Ball is here in East Boston

We did it! “Go Big or Go Home!”
On Friday, city officials gathered at Piers Park in East Boston to celebrate the unveiling of the world’s largest soccer ball—a towering 47-foot installation that has officially earned a Guinness World Records title.
Mayor Michelle Wu joined residents and visitors for the event, calling the oversized soccer ball another exciting milestone as Boston gears up to host matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Guinness World Records adjudicator Andy Glass was on hand to make it official, presenting the city with a commemorative plaque recognizing the record-breaking achievement.
The giant soccer ball now stands proudly along the East Boston waterfront, giving locals and visitors one more reason to stop by Piers Park this summer.
