According to the Boston Globe, John M. Lynch, 66, a former City Hall employee and Dorchester resident was sentenced on Friday in federal court for taking a $50,000 bribe to help a Boston real estate developer Steven Turner get the BPDA vote for approval for the development 27-29 H Street in South Boston.
Lynch was sentenced to 40 months in jail and ordered to give back the $50,000 from the bribe in addition to paying $15,000 in restitution for tax fraud.
Lynch was the assistant director of real estate at the Economic Development Industrial Corporation.
