From BPD News:
On Monday, March 10, 2025, Officers assigned to District A-7 (East Boston) arrested 19-year-old Hamilton Navarro of Chelsea, MA, on firearm-related charges following a subject stop at Putnam Square Park in East Boston.
At approximately 1:35 PM, Officers were patrolling near East Boston High School as part of an ongoing effort to address youth violence in the area. During their patrol, they observed three individuals dressed in black, two of whom were wearing masks, sitting on a bench inside Putnam Square Park. Recognizing the individuals and considering the time of day, their training, and the circumstances, Officers initiated an investigation.
As part of their inquiry, Officers determined that a pat-frisk for weapons was warranted. During the frisk, they recovered two large knives from two of the individuals. A subsequent search of the third individual, later identified as Hamilton Navarro, revealed a pink and black Walther P22 .22 caliber firearm inside a small bag he was carrying. The firearm was loaded with six .22 LR caliber rounds in the magazine.

Navarro was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court on the following charges:
- Carrying a Firearm Without a License
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License
- Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
The two juvenile males were issued summonses to Chelsea District Court for Carrying a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
