It was a rough Monday for Eastie commuters.

Just hours after the Blue Line was supposed to bounce back from a nine-day shutdown for track work, things went off the rails—again. Signal issues popped up near Maverick Station, forcing the MBTA to pull the plug and suspend service (yep, again).

Instead of hopping on the T, riders were once again shuffled onto free shuttle buses—and the East Boston ferry will keep running for free until 3 p.m. while crews scramble to fix the problem.

According to the MBTA, the signal issues are a lingering side effect of the earlier track work. In a statement, the T said:

“Corrective signal repair work near Maverick needs to take place, which came to light as service resumed Monday morning. We apologize to riders and are working to resolve the issue ASAP.”

Here’s hoping the fix actually sticks this time.

In the meantime, grab your coffee early, leave yourself some extra travel time, and maybe bookmark the ferry schedule, just in case.
