Batten down the hatches: Severe Thunderstorms and Flash Flood Warning
Blame it on the rain! And not just a shower, but heavy pouring rain.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm and flash flood warning for the area. The latest forecast is warning of torrential downpours, damaging winds and the potential of 1-inch hail. Yikes! The National Weather Service said the rainfall could come at a rate of 3 inches per hour which will lead to an increased risk of flooding.
So when we hear flooding, we instinctually think of Morrissey Boulevard! So be aware – there could be delays and and potentially Morrissey being closed to traffic.
The severe thunderstorm watch is until 10 p.m. The flash flood watch is until 11 p.m.
