Located on the Eastie waterfront, Piers Park Sailing Center, this nonprofit offers access to sailing for beginners and experienced sailors!
Learn to sail
The Learn to Sail program will take you between 16-20 hours, either two back-to-back weekends or two weeks of weekday evenings! You will learn the fundamentals of sailing including terminology, boat preparation, safety precautions, wind and weather, rigging, knots, boat handling, sail trim, emergency procedures, and basic navigation. You’ll learn aboard a 23-foot Sonar class sailboat in Boston Harbor. You can learn more about this program here!
For experienced sailors
The 2025 Sailing Pass allows for use of PPSC’s 23′ Sonar fleet from May 1, 2025 through October 31, 2025 (We will be closed for sailing on July 4th). Sailing passes are available to sailors who have previously sailed at PPSC or who successfully complete PPSC’s Learn-to-Sail program. Experienced sailors may also complete a ‘check out’ test to bypass the Learn-to-Sail program.
Sailing Passholders may bring any number of guests throughout the season, with up to 5 onboard at a time. To share your Sailing Pass with another adult sailor in your household who has completed lessons or a ‘check out’ test and would like to skipper a boat themselves, please include the Add-on Household Member to your purchase.
Regular Sailing Hours are 11am-Sunset, 7 days a week. During 8 weeks of PPSC’s Summer Youth Program (June 30-Aug 22) boats will be available starting at 4:00pm Mon- Fri.
Discounted rates for veterans, college students, and East Boston residents are available. Email [email protected] to receive a coupon code if you are a veteran, student, or Eastie resident.
