EAST BOSTON, Mass. (May 19, 2025) — After five years as a staple dining spot in East Boston, Pazza on Porter is entering an exciting new chapter. Owned by local restaurateurs Mivan Spencer and Raffaele Scalzi, Pazza on Porter is officially open to the public after undergoing a full-scale renovation and rebrand, bringing a bold new look, an updated menu, and fresh energy to the neighborhood.

Known for its traditional Italian dishes with an American twist, Pazza on Porter’s redesign incorporates touches of retro Italian charm, featuring rich maroons, deep greens, warm mahogany tones, and vintage-inspired décor. Guests can enjoy the entirely new aesthetic, with beautiful new plateware and glassware, bold artwork, new furniture, a revamped back bar, and a fully refreshed patio. The menu also received a total revamp, elevating the dining experience while keeping the energetic atmosphere that has made Pazza on Porter a neighborhood favorite.

“We decided to purchase the building that houses Pazza on Porter so that we’re able to make our vision for the future of Pazza on Porter a reality,” said Mivan Spencer, Co-Owner of Pazza on Porter. “This also serves as a testament to our deep-rooted origins and long-term commitment to East Boston and the incredible community that has supported us over the past five years.”

As one of the closest restaurants to Logan Airport, located just five minutes away, Pazza on Porter is also introducing new amenities to enhance the traveler experience, including a bag check service, a $5 Uber & Lyft promo for rides to Logan, and an official pick-up/drop-off zone that will make it easier than ever for travelers, business guests, and eventgoers to stop in. With five major hotels nearby, Pazza on Porter is a must-visit dining destination for visitors coming in for concerts, marathons, and other major Boston events.

“We’re a part of East Boston for the long haul, dedicated to making Pazza on Porter a go-to destination for locals, visitors, and travelers,” said Raffaele Scalzi, Co-Owner of Pazza on Porter. This neighborhood means everything to us, and we look forward to sharing our new elevated dishes and refreshed, energetic atmosphere with many new and familiar faces.”

The rebranding and interior design was led by Briana Betts, the Creative Director of The Comma Agency. Inspiration was pulled by the meaning of “Pazza” which means crazy girl in Italian. The retro decor features strong, eccentric women while honoring the roots of the restaurant. The space is made to feel as vibrant as what it was to be Italian (or Italian-American) in the 70’s. We are so happy and proud of both of you.
Continuing the Italian – American heritage in East Boston. As the former owner of that building- Sablone’s Veal n Vintage we are so grateful for keeping the Sablone’s wall.
That building has so much history dating back to when my mom and dad bought it in 1947. That building means so much to us and we are so thankful that you both will be carrying the tradition on.
