Free Bocce on the Greenway on Friday

Roll with it! The Friends of the Mary Ellen Welch Greenway will be hosting bocce on Friday, June 7th at 6 pm.   Equipment will be provided, and no experience is required.  Just some casual play and fun! Bocce sets and equipment are available at the YMCA.

Pick up some fresh fruit at Carmella’s Market on Fridays and Saturdays featuring delicious, seasonal produce!

Game of Shrooms

On Saturday, June 8th, it’s Game of Shrooms Day! It’s a worldwide art scavenger hunt featuring mushroom art of all mediums!  Here’s how to play!  Go to @gameofshroomsofficial and look at the participating artist map. Find artists in your area and follow them on social media to see hints of where you could find their art on June 8. Then, go mushroom hunting! Local artist Sarah Brueck Williams will be hiding adorable mini stained glass mushrooms around @bostonharborshipyardandmarina and @downeastcider in East Boston! Watch Sarah’s stories on IG Saturday morning at 10am for hints!

5K For Fitness

Join Let’s Get Movin’ to celebrate healthy kids and families in East Boston and surrounding communities. This walk/run takes place along the East Boston Greenway and all runners and walkers of all ages/abilities are encouraged to participate. It is stroller and dog friendly. The 5K takes place on Saturday, June 8th. Race Entry: $10 per runner/free for youth ages 18 and under! Register here! 

Pride Events in and Around the Neighborhood

The first day of June signals the start of Pride Month. All month long, there are opportunities around the city (and beyond) to show off your rainbow gear and support the local LGBTQIA+ community.  Check out our running list here. 

Outdoor Yoga with The Point

Outdoor yoga at Piers Park is back with The Point on Tuesdays at 4:45pm, Wednesdays at noon, and Fridays at 5:30pm! Enjoy a vinyasa flow in the great outdoors.  Bring a mat and meet in front of the sailing center! You can learn more here.
