Hew Locke: The Procession – at the ICA Water Shed

The ICA Watershed—a seasonal space in East Boston dedicated to large-scale artist projects—will reopen for the season with the U.S. debut of Hew Locke: The Procession. The exhibition, traveling from the Tate Britain, will fill the Watershed with over 100 life-size figurative sculptures staged in a fantastical forward-moving mass. Intricately handmade and adorned in printed fabric, patchwork, and appliqué, these spectacular figures embody visual references to colonialism, globalization, conflict, ecology, and cultural exchange.

Join the ICA for a first look at Hew Locke: The Procession at the ICA Watershed opening on Tuesday, May 21, from 6 PM to 8 PM.
