Big news for beer lovers and foodies in East Boston! According to our friend at Boston Restaurants Blog, Democracy Brewing—a worker-owned brewery and pub with roots in Downtown Crossing—is expanding to Eastie. Slated to open in early 2025, the new location, aptly named Democracy Brewing Eastie, will bring its signature brews and a fresh dining experience to 154 Maverick Street in Maverick Square.
This exciting addition will feature seating for 56 inside, a cozy snug for intimate gatherings, and an outdoor space with even more seating. In true Democracy Brewing fashion, the Eastie spot will offer their beloved variety of craft beers, alongside a new twist: wine made right on-site. Plus, the food menu is shaping up to be a delicious blend of flavors, with dishes influenced by Latin American cuisine.
For those who frequent Downtown Crossing, you’ll know Democracy Brewing’s original location at Temple Place, nestled in the historic Windsor Button building. Since its debut in 2018, the brewery has been celebrated for its community-oriented mission, exceptional beer, and hearty pub fare. Now, it’s taking its unique ethos across the harbor to share the love with East Boston.
Mark your calendars, Eastie residents—this is one debut you won’t want to miss. In the meantime, you can learn more about Democracy Brewing and its offerings by visiting their website.
Raise a glass and get ready to welcome Democracy Brewing Eastie to the neighborhood. Cheers!
