Eastie Residents Frustrated by Parking Tickets as Construction Takes Over Neighborhood Streets

Getting around Eastie has been extra challenging lately, and some residents say the ongoing construction and road closures are now creating another headache — parking tickets.
According to CBS Boston, several streets and intersections have been impacted by construction, including areas around Maverick Square, Bremen Street, Sumner Street, Everett Street, Gove Street, Webster Street, and more. Residents and local business owners say the closures have significantly reduced available parking, while tickets are still being issued.
City Councilor Gabriela Coletta Zapata’s office told CBS Boston that street-cleaning ticketing and towing were paused within designated areas during the work. Her office also said it can help residents appeal certain street-cleaning tickets.
The City says the work is part of ongoing improvements to East Boston’s streets and sidewalks and that officials are working to minimize disruptions.
Hopefully, there’s some relief coming soon for Eastie residents and businesses!
