Oh dear.
At about 5:13 PM on Sunday, July 12, 2026, officers assigned to District A-7 (East Boston) responded to a radio call for a vandalism in progress in the area of 279 Sumner Street in East Boston.
While enroute, officers received information via Boston Police Operations that the suspect was using a wooden pole to smash various car windows in the area.

Officers spoke to individuals at the scene who reported that the suspect had grabbed a wooden stick, used to support recently planted trees in the neighborhood, to damage several parked cars, smashing multiple windows and side mirrors as well as scratching and denting the vehicles. Additionally, officers located a cinderblock at the scene that was apparently used to smash through the glass on the vehicles.
