5 Things You Should Know This Week – June 1st

Traffic Advisory for the Funeral of Fallen BFD Firefighter Bobby Kilduff
The Boston Police Department is issuing the following traffic advisory in connection with the funeral services for Boston Firefighter Robert Kilduff Jr. on Monday, June 1. No parking or standing will be in effect Monday morning at the following locations in the vicinity of the Cathedral of the Holy Cross:
- Washington Street (both sides) from East Concord Street to Waltham Street
- Monsignor Reynolds Way (both sides) from Washington Street to Harrison Avenue
- Union Park Street (both sides) from Washington Street to Harrison Avenue
Motorists in the South End should expect significant traffic delays Monday morning and are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes and allow additional travel time. The Boston Police Department thanks the public for their patience and cooperation as we honor the memory of Firefighter Kilduff.
MBTA Service Changes in June
The MBTA today announced service changes in June on the Green, Blue, Framingham/Worcester, and Lowell lines. There are also some Commuter Rail service changes related to World Cup matchdays. Riders can find more information on service changes through in-station signage, in-station public announcements, and at mbta.com/PlannedWork. Transit Ambassadors and MBTA staff will be available on-site to offer information and assistance during these service changes. A new exhibition at AWG: On Motherhood in Times Like These
This June, multidisciplinary artist Kristen Freitas presents On Motherhood in Times Like These, a solo exhibition at the Atlantic Works Gallery exploring the layered realities of motherhood through themes of family, heritage, resilience, and resistance. Let’s Get Movin’ 5K
Neighbor Health hosts its annual Let’s Get Movin’ 5K run for fitness fundraiser in support of its many programs and initiatives that support our community. Registration is required and Bib pick up time for runners begins at 8:30 am. Donations are welcome as well.
