DCR’s Project Shade Constitution Beach Construction Phase Meeting takes Place on June 3rd

Wednesday, June 3rd @ 6pm – 7pm

Register for the meeting via the Zoom Registration Link.

As part of DCR’s Project Shade, the Constitution Beach project will reconstruct the concrete pad and paths at the existing pavilion, and install new benches, picnic tables, water bubblers, bike racks, and hammock posts. To shade the sidewalk along the parking lot, 35 native trees and shrubs will be installed in a 10’-wide meadow strip. With the installation of these trees, DCR and TreeEastie, a local non-profit, will have installed 148 trees at the park, creating shade for generations to come. At this virtual public meeting, the project design team will give an overview of the construction schedule and major milestones.

The public will be invited to provide comments during the meeting, after the presentation, by unmuting their microphones, or the chat functionality that will be available through the virtual participation platform. After the meeting, the presentation will be available for viewing on DCR’s Past events for DCR Public Meetings Information web page.  DCR encourages the public to share additional feedback, with a deadline for receipt of comments by DCR of June 17th, 2026. Comments may be submitted via the DCR public comment portal. Please note that the content of comments you submit to DCR, along with your name, town, and zip code, may be posted on DCR’s website. Additional contact information required when commenting, notably email address, will only be used for outreach on future updates on the subject project or property.
