Fugitive Unit Arrest Suspect Wanted for Rape in East Boston

A man wanted out of California was arrested in East Boston early Thursday morning, according to Boston Police.
Local and state officers, along with the U.S. Marshals, took 66-year-old Jose Renderos into custody just before 7:30 a.m. on the first block of White Street. Authorities say Renderos was wanted on a full extradition warrant issued by the Los Angeles Police Department in connection with a sexual assault case.
Police also noted that he was wanted locally as a fugitive from justice. He is expected to be arraigned in East Boston Municipal Court.
