An East Boston resident has claimed a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Gold 50X” instant ticket game.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission, Daniel Espinosa Valencia of East Boston won the top prize and selected the cash option, receiving a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes.
He told lottery officials he plans to invest the winnings. The winning ticket was purchased at The Corner Mini Market, located at 515 Bennington St. in East Boston. As the retailer that sold the ticket, the store will receive a $10,000 bonus from the Massachusetts State Lottery.
