Former Boston police detective indicted on OUI in East Boston, negligent operation charges

BOSTON, December 4, 2025 – A former Boston police detective was indicted by a Suffolk County grand jury last month for backing a city-owned truck into an occupied vehicle and driving away while intoxicated in October 2024, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden announced.
GREG WALSH, 51, of South Boston was charged with OUI liquor, leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and intoxicated licensee carrying a firearm.
Judge Budreau released Walsh on personal recognizance. Walsh is due back in court on January 15 for a pre-trial conference.
