East Boston Drug Control Unit Recovered Trafficking Amounts of Fentanyl and Crack Cocaine

At about 5:30 PM, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, officers assigned to the Drug Control Unit of District A-7 (East Boston) arrested Jheury Rodriguez-Soriano, 32, of Lawrence, and Michael Bussey, 31, of Salisbury, on various drug offenses.
Officers were on patrol in the area of 944 Bennington Street when they observed a motor vehicle enter the parking lot. Officers observed the vehicle park, but the operator did not exit the vehicle. Officers continued to monitor the vehicle and observed an individual looking in all directions approach the area.
Officers observed the vehicle back out of the parking spot, and drove towards the individual. Officers could now see the individual enter the vehicle, and the car drove around the building and parked again.
Shortly after, the vehicle departed the parking lot and the individual exited the vehicle. Officers believed that a street level drug transaction had transpired. Officers were quickly able to stop the suspect who exited the vehicle, and advised him of the reason for the stop. After further investigation, officers recovered a plastic bag of Fentanyl, and a plastic bag of Crack Cocaine.

Officers who were following the suspected motor vehicle requested assistance with a traffic stop. Officers were able stop the vehicle in the area of Wordsworth Street. Officers removed the operator from the vehicle and placed him into handcuffs.
Officers conducted a search incident to arrest and recovered 34 plastic bags of Fentanyl, 20 plastic bags of Crack Cocaine, and 5 plastic bags of Cocaine. The drugs were later weighed and determined to be 91 grams of Fentanyl, and 93.6 grams of Crack Cocaine/Cocaine. Officers also recovered $753 in U.S. currency.
Rodriguez-Soriano was placed under arrest and charged with Trafficking of Class A, Trafficking of Class B, Distribution of Class A, and Distribution of Class B.
Bussey was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Class A, and Possession of Class B.
Both suspects are expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court.
