Ride Your Bike to Work Day

Boston’s National Bike to Work Day Festival celebrates National Bike to Work Day. It’s our way of saying, “Thanks for riding your bike today.” The City wants to make it fun for experienced and new bike commuters by organizing convoys and a festival at City Hall from 7am-9pm on Friday, May 17th, with free coffee and breakfast!

Ain’t no party like a neighborhood block party

Mayor Michelle Wu and the Community Engagement Cabinet’s Office of Civic Organizing announced applications are now open for the second year of block party grants. This funding effort is to encourage residents to connect with their neighbors and experience the joy of building a stronger community. Residents and community groups who apply for the mini-grants can receive up to $750 to purchase food, party supplies, lawn games, and other items for summer block parties to make it easier and more affordable for neighborhoods to hold community gatherings. Let it Fly – Revere Beach Kite Festival

On Sunday, May 19th, we will host our 8th Annual Kite Festival on Revere Beach. This is our way of kicking off beach season with fun for the whole family! Children will have the opportunity to build, decorate, and fly their kites. The event also features professional kite flyers, live music, and other family-friendly activities! This event brings in people of all ages to enjoy a beautiful Spring day on the beach and have family fun! We are excited to be back on the beach for the season and want you to join us.

The Quiet Few Sister Restaurant Small Victories is opening in Southie this week

In the ever-changing landscape of restaurants and bars in Southie, there’s a new one in the neighborhood – Small Victories! Located at 400 Dorchester Street, this soon to be hot spot will feature a menu of delicious snacks like nachos, pickles, pretzels, chip + dip in addition to burgers, hot dogs and more!  Plus they’ll be serving up beer, wine, cocktails and en extensive whiskey list!  They will be opening on Tuesday! Small Victories is the sister restaurant to the wildly popular The Quiet Few in Eastie!

Suffolk Down Race Track Documentary at East Boston Library

The East Boston Public Library and Suffolk Downs is hosting a screening of Suffolk Downs: A Race Through Time – a history of Suffolk Downs.  This event takes place on Thursday, May 16th from 5:30pm-7:30pm.
