Traffic Stop in Eastie leads to drug trafficking arrest

From BPD News:
At approximately 6:08 PM on Thursday, February 29, 2024, officers from the A-7 (East Boston) Anti-Crime Unit apprehended Jenttrey Serrano, a 29-year-old resident of Malden, on charges related to Drug Trafficking.
While conducting routine patrols near Maverick Sq in response to multiple community complaints, officers observed a motor vehicle fail to stop at a red light. Following this violation, they conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Visconti and Paris St. Upon interaction with the sole occupant, identified as Serrano, and officers discovered that he was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. Despite instructions to exit the vehicle, Serrano hesitated. Subsequently, officers removed him from the vehicle and conducted an inventory search, revealing a clear plastic container containing various quantities of cocaine, alongside a digital scale. The seized contraband included a solid block and plastic bags containing a white powdery substance later confirmed to be cocaine, totaling 68.1 grams.
Serrano was taken into custody and is now facing charges of trafficking cocaine and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. He is scheduled for arraignment at East Boston District Court.
