Fiery Crash in East Boston Early Wednesday Morning

BFD responded to a call for a crash between a car and a tanker truck early Wednesday morning on McLellan Highway.
According to WCVB, the crash on the northbound side of Route 1A (also known as McLellan Highway) happened at 3 a.m. just north of Boston’s Logan International Airport. Both vehicles caught on fire and one person was taken to a local hospital to be treated for burn injuries.
As of 7am, Route 1 A is closed between Addison Street and Suffolk Downs. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
