So big news from the preliminary election results – Ricardo Arroyo (District 5)  and Kendra Lara (District 6) became the first incumbent councilors in at least four decades to lose a preliminary election. The people have spoken, no doubt, in response to a somewhat scandalous few months. 

Only four districts voted in the election on Tuesday, and the top two vote-getters will compete in the Nov. 7 general election.  See results below:

*Ann Walsh came in just behind Richards with less than 100 votes separating the two. We wouldn’t be surprised if there is a recount. Stay tuned.

The General Election will take place on Tuesday, November 7th.  In addition to the district councilors, you will also be voting for at-large councilors – see candidates below:

Ruthzee Louijeune, Julia Mejia, and Erin Murphy are all running as incumbent candidates (Michael Flaherty will not seek reelection). Also running are Clifton Braithwaite, Bridget Nee-Walsh, Shawn Nelson, Henry Santana, and Catherine Vitale.
