Frio Rico

Frio Rico is a Peruvian specialty store and ice cream stop serving up tasty tropical flavors. Known for their delicious minutas, which we can best describe as a kind of Peruvian snow cone. Minutas are offered in a variety of flavors, including lucuma, coconut, pina colada and mango, and topped with condensed milk, among other delicious toppings. Frio Rico’s baked goods are equally noteworthy, like their alfajores, which are freshly made cookies sandwiched with rich dulce de leche filling.

Petrova Chocolates

Petrova Chocolates, a new chocolate boutique on Border Street, announced on social media that they’ll be serving ice cream again this season!  Petrova’s ice cream and sorbet are all made in-house with farm-fresh milk and cream and no artificial flavoring! You can have your ice cream or sorbet served in a chocolate-dipped cone, regular waffle cone, or cup. The flavors of ice cream and sorbet will rotate.

Tutti Frutti

A Peruvian-inspired dessert haven, Tutti Fruitti brings the magic of shaved ice to East Boston. Their signature treat, “Minutas,” is a delightful blend of finely shaved ice with an array of enticing toppings.

Slush King

An East Boston institution since 1969, Slush King crafts frozen treats that have stood the test of time. With decades of experience, they have perfected their recipes, which include traditional favorites like Lemon and Blue Raspberry, as well as their more exotic flavors like Watermelon Mojito or a tangy Mango Tango. As if their slushes weren’t delightful enough, Slush King also serves up ice cream sandwiches, where you can choose your favorite slush flavor and pair it with creamy ice cream and soft, homemade cookies.

The Blue Caboose

The Blue Caboose is a newly opened, highly anticipated ice cream and coffee shop operating out of a refurbished 1940s train car in East Boston. Located along the Mary Ellen Welch Greenway near the corner of South Bremen and Marginal streets, this trendy walk-up window sits right on the edge of the Jeffries Point neighborhood near Piers Park. After years of extensive renovations to rescue the historic train car from graffiti and dilapidation, it officially opened to the public!
