More drug related trouble in the Mass + Cass neighborhood.

At about 2:45 PM on Saturday February, 13, 2021, officers assigned to the District C-6 (South Boston) Drug Control Unit arrested Jay Candelario, 40, of Lowell, on firearm and drug related charges during an investigation in the area of 112 Southampton Street in Roxbury. The officers were able to place the suspect in custody without incident after recovering a loaded .40 caliber Taurus handgun equipped with a laser sight, over 500 pills or pieces of alprazolam, 48 suboxone strips, several plastic bags containing large amounts of fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana along with $3,509 in U.S. Currency.
The suspect will appear in Roxbury District Court on multiple charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Trafficking Class A and B Drugs and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class C and D Drugs.
