Sad + disappointing night in Boston as peaceful protests erupt in violence

On Sunday night, a protest against the killing of George Floyd and other Black American’s starts off peacefully and then ends in violence – fires burned, stores looted, and bottles thrown.
Early this morning, BPD tweeted out the following:

Tension and violence continued throughout the city until 1am. Mayor Walsh and Commissioner Gross are expected to speak today. You can get a full report via the Boston Globe.
Our hearts are broken.
